IKN AUTHORITY & BANK INDONESIA SECURE GREEN CITY INVESTMENT MOUS
The Nusantara Capital City Authority (IKN Authority), Bank Indonesia, and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government secured potential investment commitments worth IDR54.62 trillion (US$3.1 billion) during the 2026 Mahakam Investment Forum (MIF). The commitments consist of four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) valued at IDR32.7 trillion and 30 letters of intent (LoIs) covering 11 strategic projects worth IDR21.92 trillion. The largest commitment is a IDR29 trillion coal gasification project in Sangatta, East Kutai, while industrial estates attracted the highest number of investor expressions of interest. The forum drew interest from several international partners, including Belarus and Bangladesh. Belarus expressed interest in supporting East Kalimantan’s agricultural sector through potassium fertilizer supply chains, while Bangladesh explored cooperation in sustainable urban planning and technology for the development of Nusantara as a green city. To accelerate investment, the IKN Authority promoted incentives such as tax holidays, super tax deductions, and streamlined licensing through its INVESTARA digital platform, aiming to transform Nusantara into a sustainable economic and administrative hub.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7664/business-and-investment/ikn-authority-bank-indonesia-secure-investment-mous-with-countries-eyeing-green-city-development (ICE GIACARTA)
