INDONESIA AND CHILE PROPOSE GREEN MINERALS PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST CRITICAL MINERAL

Indonesia has formally presented a Green Minerals Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Chile to deepen bilateral cooperation in critical minerals, green mining technologies, and energy transition projects. Presented by Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno to Chilean Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna during the INALAC Business Mission in Santiago, the proposal outlines an "Indonesia-Chile Industrial Bridge". This initiative aims to link major entities—including Codelco, Elecmetal, PT Freeport Indonesia, and INALUM—to advance copper, aluminum, battery supply chains, and mine tailings waste management. The two nations agreed to leverage the existing Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA) to accelerate joint ventures across the battery, electric vehicle, and vaccine sectors. By connecting Indonesia's growing downstream manufacturing ecosystem with Chile's vast global copper resources, both sides seek to expand joint investments, facilitate technology transfers, and establish a resilient, integrated supply chain for green energy transitions.Source: https://news.metal.com/newscontent/104143785-indonesia-and-chile-propose-green-minerals-partnership-to-boost-critical-minerals-and-battery-cooperation?utm_source=chatgpt.com (ICE GIACARTA)
