ACEH SECURES OVER IDR 300 BILLION INVESTMENT COMMITMENTS FOR AGROINDUSTRY AND Renewable Energy Development
The Aceh Provincial Government, through its regional enterprise PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA), has signed investment agreements with foreign and domestic companies during the Aceh Economic Development Forum 2026. PEMA partnered with two Malaysian firms, Kedah Agro Ausin Berhad for agroindustrial development, logistics, and technology, as well as Tigallapan Investama for joint studies on renewable energy. Additionally, agreements were reached with three domestic companies, including PT Citaglobal for sustainable energy, PT Banda Sentra Nasional for telecommunications infrastructure, and PT Indo Surya Galvalume for lightweight steel and precast construction manufacturing. Together, these agreements represent an estimated total investment commitment exceeding IDR 300 billion. This investment push is part of Aceh's broader strategy to transition toward industrialization and downstream commodity processing rather than exporting raw materials. Acting Regional Secretary Taufik and PEMA Director Faisal Ilyas emphasized that building local processing capacity across agriculture, plantation, and energy sectors is essential to retaining economic value within the region. By developing localized manufacturing and processing facilities, the provincial government aims to optimize natural resource utilization, generate local employment opportunities, and drive long term economic growth for the community.
