INDONESIA STRENGTHENS TOY INDUSTRY COMPETITIVENESS
Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is intensifying efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the national toy industry by improving product quality and standardization, strengthening industrial capacity, and expanding market access. Through the Indonesia Toy Forum 2026, organized in collaboration with the Asia Toy and Play Association (ATPA), the government is bringing together industry stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities for developing a stronger and more competitive toy manufacturing ecosystem. According to Director General of Small, Medium and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA), Reni Yanita, the key challenge is not only producing toys but also ensuring that locally made products are absorbed by the domestic market while gaining access to global supply chains. She emphasized the importance of standards implementation, greater use of domestic products, innovation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration involving industry, education, retail, and digital commerce sectors. The toy industry is viewed as a labor-intensive sector with significant potential to create jobs and increase its contribution to Indonesia’s economy.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2789916/indonesia-strengthens-toy-industry-competitiveness (ICE GIACARTA)
