INDONESIA: GEO DIPA TARGETS 965MW GEOTHERMAL CAPACITY & LITHIUM PRODUCTION
PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) -Indonesia's state-owned geothermal company- is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan to add 965 MW of geothermal power generation capacity over the next decade. The company currently operates 120 MW, has a 100 MW plant under construction, and another 110 MW project in the procurement preparation stage. Including projects under development, Geo Dipa manages nearly 400 MW of geothermal capacity, reinforcing its role in supporting Indonesia’s renewable energy transition. In addition to electricity generation, Geo Dipa is diversifying into the production of silica and lithium extracted from geothermal fluids. The company aims to produce around 5,000 tons annually of these minerals, creating a new revenue stream that could improve the economics of geothermal projects and help reduce electricity costs. By combining clean energy generation with value-added mineral production, Geo Dipa is positioning geothermal resources as an integrated energy and mineral business model for the future.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7499/energy-and-resources/geo-dipa-targets-965mw-geothermal-capacity-and-lithium-production-within-a-decade (ICE GIACARTA)
