INDONESIA OPENS USD 118.7 BILLION ENERGY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Indonesia is opening up energy-sector investment opportunities worth IDR 2,133.7 trillion (US$118.7 billion) through its 2025-2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), which targets the addition of 69.5 GW of power generation capacity. Of this total, 42.6 GW (61%) will come from renewable energy sources, 10.3 GW (15%) from energy storage, and 16.6 GW (24%) from fossil-fuel power plants. The plan includes around IDR 1,341.8 trillion in renewable energy investments under the independent power producer (IPP) scheme, with solar power accounting for the largest share of new renewable capacity at 17.1 GW. The expansion is expected to generate more than 836,000 jobs, including over 760,000 green jobs, while helping Indonesia capitalize on its vast renewable energy potential of 3,687 GW, most of which remains untapped. Government officials say the investment opportunities extend beyond power generation to transmission networks, energy storage, and supporting industries, while cleaner energy development is expected to attract investments in future-oriented sectors such as data centers, green industrial estates, hydrogen production, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), green ammonia, carbon capture technologies, and the circular economy.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2771736/indonesia-opens-usd-1187-billion-energy-investment-opportunities (ICE GIACARTA)
