MAJOR INVESTMENT DRIVES EXPANSION OF UAE TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE
The UAE is significantly accelerating the expansion of its tourism and leisure landscape through major capital investments spanning Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah. Key developments driving this growth include the $1.7bn Sphere Abu Dhabi and a separate AED12bn ($3.27bn) five-year investment plan by Miral on Yas Island to enhance its theme parks and attractions in line with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030. In Dubai, projects like the one-million-square-metre eco-recreational Al Layan Oasis and the AED500m ($136m) redevelopment of Umm Suqeim Beach aim to boost annual visitor capacity and offer modern, tech-enabled facilities. Meanwhile, Sharjah is advancing coastal tourism through the seven-million-square-foot Abu Al Keizan Marine Village and the AED700m ($191m) Khorfakkan Resort, while Ras Al Khaimah has commenced work on the 2,000-metre Al Rams Waterfront, collectively broadening the nation's entertainment, cultural, and sustainable tourism offerings for residents and international visitors.
