INDONESIA-ROMANIA TRADE HITS RECORD HIGH IN 2026

Bilateral economic cooperation between Indonesia and Romania reached a historical record in the first seven months of 2026, reaching USD 571.6 million—a 240 percent surge compared to the same period in 2025. This rapid growth, heavily driven by USD 541.1 million in Indonesian exports, was highlighted by Indonesian Ambassador Meidyatama Suryodiningrat during an anniversary reception in Bucharest, where he emphasized that both nations complement each other's markets rather than compete directly. To further expand market access and investment channels, Indonesia is seeking Bucharest's support to accelerate the ratification of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Romanian Secretary of State Ana Cristina Tinca agreed that trade holds immense potential within the broader EU-ASEAN framework, cementing Indonesia's position as one of Romania's top trading partners in Southeast Asia.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/international/2742312/indonesia-romania-trade-hits-record-high-in-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
