UKRAINE: CONTINUED EXPANSION IN PASTA IMPORTS WITH ITALY REMAINING THE DOMINANT SUPPLIER IN THE FIRST EIGHT MONTHS OF 2026

In January-August 2026, Ukraine imported €37.15 million worth of pasta products, marking a 10.86% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Italy remained the leading supplier, with exports totaling €19.85 million, accounting for 53.43% of Ukraine’s pasta imports. Italian exports increased by 3.47% year-on-year, and Italy’s dominant position in the market remains unchallenged. Poland continued to demonstrate strong growth momentum, with exports rising by 27.61% to €4.91 million, increasing its market share to 13.22%. Turkey held third place, delivering €3.70 million, reflecting a 5.82% increase and capturing 9.96% of the market. Among the fastest-growing suppliers, South Korea more than doubled its exports, which surged by 167.29% to €2.55 million, raising its market share to 6.86%. China also strengthened its position, with exports increasing by 33.18% to €1.56 million and a market share of 4.19%. Other notable suppliers included Vietnam, whose exports grew by 5.39% to €1.28 million, accounting for 3.45% of total imports. Overall, Ukraine’s pasta import market in the first eight months of 2026 demonstrated continued growth and increasing diversification. Italy remains the clear market leader, while Poland, Turkey, and rapidly expanding Asian suppliers, particularly South Korea and China, are steadily strengthening their positions. (ICE KIEV)
