Crypto miners paid 22.4 bln tenge in taxes to Kazakhstan’s budget in 2025Tax revenue from crypto mining has grown 2.5-fold since 2023, with 22.4 billion tenge paid into Kazakhstan's budget last year, Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Gizzat Baitursynov said."Tax revenue has grown significantly. In 2023, the sector paid 9 billion tenge into the budget; in 2025, that figure reached 22.4 billion tenge — a 2.5-fold increase," Baitursynov told a government meeting in Astana on Tuesday.About 3,600 bitcoins were mined through mining pools in Kazakhstan in 2025, four times the 2023 volume, the deputy minister said.Baitursynov noted that the law on digital assets took effect in 2023. Before its adoption, the state had no complete data on mined digital asset volumes, equipment used or the scale of the industry.Kazakhstan currently has 76 licensed miners and five accredited mining pools, with about 470,000 units of equipment registered, he said.
