Zaher Al-Qatarneh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, said Tuesday that 327 new investment projects had been registered with the ministry during the first half of this year and benefited from exemptions, with the total anticipated investment exceeding JD 710 million. Speaking to Al-Mamlaka, Al-Qatarneh said the Ministry of Investment had issued a comprehensive report outlining the measures, procedures, and decisions adopted in the investment sector during the first six months of the year. He said the initiative was part of a government approach centered on transparency and the measurement of performance and impact through specific indicators. Al-Qatarneh also said the ministry had introduced legislative amendments, including changes to the investment environment regulations, aimed at reducing the time required to grant approvals. Under the new “fast-track” route, applications can be processed within two days, provided that all required documents and conditions are met and the project complies with applicable regulations.
