EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas affirmed that the partnership between Jordan and the European Union is expanding into broader areas. He noted that the relationship is no longer limited to economic support and trade, but now encompasses political and diplomatic cooperation, as well as security and defense, investment, tourism, and the preservation of archaeological sites. Speaking to media representatives en route to Machaerus to attend a performance of Handel’s Messiah, Chatzisavas said that relations between the EU and Jordan are “very strong at all levels and are growing stronger,” driven by a shared understanding of international relations and a commitment to a rules-based international order. He added that global turmoil and emerging challenges have brought the two sides closer together, reflecting a growing convergence in their visions and positions on a range of international issues.
