SINGAPORE GROWTH LEANS HEAVILY ON ELECTRONICS BOOM
Singapore’s growth is becoming increasingly reliant on electronics as the global artificial intelligence investment boom drives demand across the city-state’s technology supply chain. The government raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast to 4.5% -- 5.5%, whilst electronics exports rose 24% even as non-electronics exports weakened. Sheana Yue, Senior Economist at Oxford Economics, said Singapore is benefiting from the global AI investment wave, but its gains also reflect capabilities developed domestically.
