INDONESIA ADVANCES GREEN INVESTMENT TO DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH
Indonesia is shifting its investment strategy toward green industries to support economic growth and accelerate the energy transition. According to BKPM's Director of Investment Deregulation, Dendy Apriandi, the use of green energy has become increasingly important for Indonesian products seeking access to international markets, especially in Europe. As a result, Indonesia is incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into investment policies to strengthen its competitiveness in the global green economy. To support this strategy, the government is building a green investment ecosystem that includes faster energy transition efforts, circular economy practices, green transportation, and adoption of sustainable technologies. It is also developing innovative financing tools such as green financing and carbon pricing, while enhancing fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. Green economy development is one of the five key priorities in Indonesia’s 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan and is expected to help achieve the government’s target of 8% economic growth through increased investment.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/430511/indonesia-advances-green-investment-to-drive-economic-growth (ICE GIACARTA)
