SHARJAH SECURES $2.1BN FDI TO DRIVE TECH, AI, AND INFRASTRUCTURE GROWTH

In 2025, Sharjah attracted 142 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects valued at AED 7.74 billion ($2.1 billion), resulting in the creation of 5,673 jobs. Speaking at the AIM Congress 2026, Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, revealed that 75% of these projects are already operational, demonstrating the emirate's focus on high-impact, long-term economic development rather than capital volume alone. Primary investments were spearheaded by key markets including India, Italy, the UK, and the US, targeting priority sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and logistics. To further solidify its global trade connectivity, Sharjah is expanding its reach into Asian and regional markets while executing major infrastructure enhancements, including expanding Khorfakkan Port's capacity to 10 million containers.
