UAE OIL PRODUCTION AND GDP GROWTH TRAJECTORY

According to S&P Global Ratings, the UAE's oil output is projected to rise to 4.0 million barrels per day (mbpd) by 2027 and reach 5.0 mbpd by 2029 following its exit from OPEC and OPEC+. This expansion in production capacity—driven by ADNOC—is set to accelerate real GDP growth to an average of 6.2% between 2027 and 2029 (up from an estimated 2.4% in 2026) while driving fiscal and current account surpluses averaging 3.5% and 13% of GDP, respectively. Anchoring these projections is the UAE's strong "AA/A-1+" credit rating and net asset cushion (147% of GDP in 2026), providing a robust safety buffer against geopolitical shocks and shipping constraints while the nation leverages low public debt (26% of GDP) and proactive policies to drive economic stability.
