PUPUK INDONESIA EYES STRATEGIC AMMONIA-UREA PROJECT IN RUSSIA

State-owned fertilizer manufacturer PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSC Ruschem to explore a strategic partnership for the Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant Phase 2 (NFP-2) project in Primorsky Krai, Russia. Signed during the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, the joint study aims to assess the feasibility of developing a world-scale production facility with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons of methanol, 2 million tons of ammonia, and 3.5 million tons of urea targeted for commercial operation by 2030. President Director Rahmad Pribadi highlighted that the initiative aligns with Danantara's directive to strengthen national food security while expanding the company’s global footprint with competitive, gas-based raw material costs.Investment and Downstreaming Minister/CEO of Danantara Rosan P. Roeslani noted that the joint exploration is a direct follow-up to discussions between President Prabowo Subianto and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Beyond securing raw material supplies for national resilience, the project leverages the strategic location of the Port of Vladivostok facing the Pacific Ocean, which opens broader export routes to key Asia-Pacific markets. Both parties will now proceed with comprehensive technical, economic, and regulatory feasibility studies and due diligence to evaluate project risks and financing structures.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20260906/257/2001770/pupuk-indonesia-bidik-proyek-amonia-urea-di-rusia (ICE GIACARTA)
