The Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) handled more than 104,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) across 58 vessels in August, setting a monthly record for the second consecutive month. The result surpassed the previous record of 101,900 TEUs set in July, marking the second consecutive month in which container throughput exceeded 100,000 TEUs despite regional trade disruptions. Transit cargo also remained strong for a third consecutive month, exceeding 20,000 TEUs in August, including more than 10,000 TEUs bound for Iraq. (ICE AMMAN)
