Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade reported a 594.46% surge in aircraft and aviation component imports during the January–July 2026 period, marking the highest increase among non-oil and gas commodities. Total national imports during this period grew by 19.94% year-on-year to $163.33 billion, driven primarily by raw materials (71.45%) and capital goods (19.88%) needed to support domestic production and investment. In July 2026 alone, total imports reached $26.09 billion, up 27.02% year-on-year.
