China’s service trade reached 4.45 trillion yuan in the first seven months of 2026, up 8.3% year-on-year. Driven by a 17.1% surge in exports to 1.77 trillion yuan against a 3.2% gain in imports, the service deficit shrank by 176.33 billion yuan to 900.25 billion yuan. Travel and transport exports led expansion, contributing over 50% of export growth, while knowledge-intensive service exports rose 12.2% to account for 53.5% of total service exports.  (ICE PECHINO)
