UKRAINE’S CHOCOLATE AND COCOA IMPORTS CONTINUE TO EXPAND IN THE FIRST SEVEN MONTHS OF 2026

  Ukraine’s imports of chocolate and cocoa products continued to grow during the first seven months of 2026, reflecting resilient consumer demand and a steady recovery in the confectionery sector. Between January and July 2026, total imports reached €105.46 million, marking a 5.03% increase compared to the same period of 2025. Poland further strengthened its position as Ukraine’s leading supplier, exporting €42.45 million worth of chocolate and cocoa products and accounting for 40.25% of total imports. Germany ranked second with €11.95 million (11.33% market share), followed by the Netherlands with €9.58 million (9.08%). Belgium supplied €6.63 million, corresponding to a 6.28% market share. Against this generally positive import trend, imports from Italy recorded moderate growth. In January-July 2026, Ukraine imported €6.68 million worth of Italian chocolate and cocoa products, representing a 7.82% increase year-on-year. Italy maintained a solid position among Ukraine’s top suppliers, holding a 6.33% share of total imports. Several suppliers achieved particularly strong growth. Imports from Lithuania surged by 124.04% to €2.91 million, while France increased exports by 114.78% to €1.17 million. Slovenia also recorded remarkable growth, with shipments rising by 157.65% to €1.26 million. Overall, the Ukrainian chocolate and cocoa import market in the first seven months of 2026 shows continued growth and increasing diversification. Poland continues to consolidate its leadership, while Italy maintains a stable presence and several European suppliers are successfully expanding their positions in the market. (ICE KIEV)
