Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has opened tenders for seven large-scale solar power projects, inviting independent power producers (IPPs) to participate as part of the country’s ambitious 100 GWp solar development program. Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said projects will be awarded based on competitive pricing, while projects that fail to attract viable bids could be implemented directly by the government through sovereign wealth fund Danantara. The seven projects include the 69 MWp Purwakarta solar plant, 1,688 MWp Jatiluhur floating solar plant, 1,250 MWp Cirata floating solar plant, 636 MWp Jatigede floating solar plant, 605 MWp Madura solar plant, 300 MWp Gilimanuk solar plant, and 118 MWp Buleleng solar plant. These projects are part of a broader renewable energy push that has already seen the launch and groundbreaking of 14 solar plants across Java, Bangka Belitung, and the Riau Islands with a combined capacity of 5.3 GWp, alongside a 1,000 MW solar-plus-battery project in Bali.
