GERMANY REAFFIRMS US$20 BILLION JETP COMMITMENT TO INDONESIA

German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Reem Alabali Radovan reaffirmed that the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) aims to mobilise around US$20 billion for Indonesia’s shift from coal to renewable energy, with funding expected roughly equally from public and private sources. She made the statement at the opening of Indonesia Sustainable Energy Week 2026 in Jakarta on August 19, during a three-day visit accompanied by a German sustainable-energy business delegation. Germany co-leads the partnership with Japan, but the financing is project-based rather than a single grant, and Indonesia has so far utilised only about US$4 billion amid regulatory, commercial and implementation bottlenecks.Source: https://jakartaglobe.id/business/germany-says-indonesia-will-get-its-20-billion-anticoal-jetp-funds (ICE GIACARTA)
