CENTRE PLANS CRITICAL MINERAL PROCESSING PARKS ACROSS FOUR STATES

The government is set to fast-track plans to establish four dedicated critical mineral processing parks across India.Mines Secretary Keshav Chandra said measures for lithium and nickel will be introduced soon as the government identifies suitable locations for the designated parks which includes states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The priority reflects the growing importance of the two minerals in the battery sector, which is considered critical to future clean-energy and industrial growth. Each proposed park will be designed to accommodate the complete value chain for a designated mineral, covering processing and downstream industries within a single location. State governments will lead the planning and implementation, while the Centre will provide technical support. The initiative is part of the National Critical Mineral Mission, which has a total outlay of Rs 34,300 crore over seven years. The mission aims to promote domestic and offshore mineral exploration, and support India’s green-energy transition.https://www.projectstoday.ai/News/Centre-plans-critical-mineral-processing-parks-across-four-states (ICE MUMBAI)
