Danantara Indonesia, through Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has signed a USD 2.5 billion agreement with JBS Group to acquire a 25% stake in JBS’s Australia and New Zealand operations. The deal establishes a new joint venture focused on strengthening food security and expanding protein distribution networks across Southeast Asia and Oceania. With an additional USD 2.5 billion investment commitment, the partnership creates a total capital pool of USD 5 billion to fund acquisitions and new development projects in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The partnership gives Danantara access to JBS’s established operations, management expertise, and global supply chain network, supporting the long-term growth and industrialization of Indonesia’s domestic protein sector. Danantara CIO Pandu Patria Sjahrir said the collaboration aligns with the institution’s investment mandate, while JBS CEO Gilberto Tomazoni described it as a key step in the company’s Southeast Asian growth strategy.
