GOVT ENCOURAGES YACHT TOURISM TO STRENGTHEN INDONESIA'S MARINE TOURISM
Tourism Minister of Indonesia, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, announced at the INSA Yacht Festival 2026 in Bali that Indonesia is expanding yacht tourism as part of its marine‑tourism ecosystem, alongside cruises and diving. As the world’s largest archipelagic nation within the Coral Triangle, Indonesia has strong potential to attract higher‑value visitors and strengthen competitiveness. Wardhana emphasized collaboration among industry players, investors, communities, and government agencies to build a competitive sector that spreads economic benefits across industries and coastal communities. INSA (Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association) chairwoman Carmelita Hartoto highlighted the strategic multiplier effect of marine tourism on shipping, marinas, shipyards, MSMEs, and local communities. The three‑day festival at Benoa Marina featured yacht exhibitions, educational tours, joy rides, fashion shows, and sunset cruises, supported by the Tourism Ministry through the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. The initiative aims to reinforce Indonesia’s position as a leading marine‑tourism destination while promoting sustainability, hospitality skills, and international visibility.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/426193/govt-encourages-yacht-tourism-to-strengthen-indonesias-marine-tourism (ICE GIACARTA)
