TRADE DEALS KEY TO BOOSTING FOREIGN INVESTMENT : MINISTER
Indonesia’s growing international trade agreements act as a strategic catalyst to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated. Securing pacts with key partners, including the US and EU, enhances the nation's investment appeal. Budi highlighted that foreign companies lacking direct preferential access to Western markets can invest in Indonesia to export goods to Europe and America. With the US generating Indonesia's largest trade surplus at $18.11 billion (11.1% of total exports), securing a formal US trade deal remains vital. Additionally, Indonesia is accelerating trade negotiations with other regions like the Middle East to diversify markets.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/425465/trade-deals-key-to-boosting-foreign-investment-minister (ICE GIACARTA)
