INDONESIA EYES INVESTMENT, TOURISM GROWTH TO DRIVE Q3 ECONOMY

Indonesia is looking to investment and tourism as key drivers of economic growth in the third quarter of 2026, with the government aiming to maintain economic momentum through the end of the year. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said efforts will focus on encouraging investment while strengthening tourism-related industries. He highlighted Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as high-performing destinations that are attracting increasing numbers of domestic and international visitors, contributing to regional economic growth above the national average. Tourism data reflects this positive trend, with domestic travel reaching 630.41 million trips in the first half of 2026, the highest second-quarter figure since 2019. International arrivals also increased, with Bali recording more than 605,000 foreign visitors in June, while NTB and NTT posted strong growth in tourist visits. The government expects improved connectivity, including new direct flights between Bali and Phuket, Thailand, to further boost tourism, attract a wider range of travelers, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2632092/indonesia-eyes-investment-tourism-growth-to-drive-q3-economy (ICE GIACARTA)
