INDONESIA BATTERY CORPORATION PURSUES POTENTIAL PARTNERS TO DEVELOP BATTERY Technology Advancement
PT Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), a state-owned enterprise, is seeking strategic international collaborations to accelerate the development of next-generation battery technologies, particularly sodium-ion and solid-state batteries. According to President Director Aditya F. Arif, IBC has identified potential foreign partners but any partnership will require approval from shareholders and Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara. The company aims to secure joint ownership of intellectual property to strengthen Indonesia’s long-term technological capabilities, moving beyond licensing agreements and ensuring the nation keeps pace with global battery innovations. IBC’s strategy focuses on diversifying Indonesia’s battery technology portfolio, targeting emerging fields rather than competing in mature nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery markets. Aditya emphasized that sodium-ion and solid-state batteries hold strong potential for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage, with nickel playing a promising role in future applications. By pursuing these technologies, IBC hopes to position Indonesia as a competitive player in the global battery industry while supporting the country’s renewable energy ambitions.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7027/energy-and-resources/indonesia-battery-corporation-pursues-potential-partners-to-develop-battery-technology-advancement# (ICE GIACARTA)
