CHINA TARGETS 25% NON-FOSSIL ENERGY SHARE BY 2030
China’s State Council rolled out a 2026–2030 decarbonization plan on July 9, targeting 25% non-fossil energy by 2030 (21.7% in 2025). The action plan outlined the roadmap for achieving its carbon emission peaking target before 2030, setting up key targets for 2030, including a 17% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP from 2025, 30% new energy vehicle (NEV) share.
