UKRAINE’S BIOETHANOL PRODUCTION COULD RISE BY 150% BY 2030
Ukraine’s bioethanol production could increase by about 150% by 2030 as the country seeks to strengthen energy security and expand domestic processing of agricultural raw materials. According to experts, Ukraine aims to increase annual bioethanol production to 1 million tons by 2030. Current combined production capacity at domestic enterprises is about 400,000 tons per year. With the necessary investment, Ukrainian producers could reach an annual output of 1 million tons within one and a half to two years, experts say. The first bioethanol plants built at the beginning of the full-scale war paid back their investments in about six months of operation. According to current estimates, new projects in the sector also show strong profitability potential. At the same time, the industry will need to account for external risks and changes in the global fuel market. Experts point to France as an example, where demand for bioethanol increased sharply after traditional fuel prices rose amid tensions around the Strait of Hormuz. Even if export demand from the EU is lower than expected, Ukrainian bioethanol still has significant potential in the domestic market. The development of bioethanol could become an important part of Ukraine’s broader industrial strategy, linking agriculture, energy security, processing and export-oriented production.Fonte: https://ubn.news/ukraines-bioethanol-production-could-rise-by-150-by-2030/ (ICE KIEV)
