Kazakhstan plans to extend fuel export ban until May 2027Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry plans to extend a ban on exports of certain oil products until May 22, 2027, according to a draft order published in the country's legal database."The ban would cover gasoline, diesel and certain other petroleum products shipped by road and rail, including to fellow members of the Eurasian Economic Union, from Nov. 22, 2026, to May 22, 2027," the draft says.A separate ban on exports of light distillates, jet fuel, diesel, gas oils, toluene, xylene and petroleum bitumen outside the EEU customs territory would run from Jan. 1, 2027, to June 30, 2027."The six-month bans include exemptions for humanitarian aid and deliveries authorized by government decisions," the document said.The draft orders are open for public comment until July 21, 2026.Current export bans are in place from May 21 to Nov. 21, 2026, and from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2026.
