UKRAINE: STRONG GROWTH IN OLIVE OIL IMPORTS FROM ITALY IN EARLY 2026

In January–May 2026, Ukraine’s imports of olive oil reached €6.70 million, reflecting a solid 9.88% increase compared to the same period in 2025.Italy further strengthened its position as the leading supplier, with exports rising to €2.92 million, up 9.22% year-on-year. Italy’s market share stood at 43.49%, confirming its dominance in the Ukrainian olive oil market.Spain remained the second-largest supplier, posting a 13.4% increase to €2.02 million, bringing its market share to 30.19%. Greece continued to lose ground, with imports declining by 16.11% to €1.18 million (17.62% market share).Poland maintained its dynamic rise, with exports surging by 209.33% to €513,397, capturing 7.66% of total Ukrainian olive oil imports. Tunisia also recorded strong growth, with shipments increasing by 212.31% to €27,753.Other emerging suppliers included Israel, France, Chile, Germany, and the Netherlands, all contributing to a more diversified import landscape.Overall, Ukraine’s olive oil import market in early 2026 shows robust expansion and gradual diversification, with Italy consolidating its leadership, Spain sustaining growth, and Poland’s rapid rise reshaping the competitive environment.
