INDONESIA BRINGS 3 PRIORITY GLOBAL WATER ISSUES TO THE 2027 WORLD WATER FORUM

Indonesia has proposed three priority water-resource issues for discussion at the 11th World Water Forum, which will take place in Saudi Arabia on March 21–25, 2027. Speaking at the 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Meeting in Jeddah, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized that water is fundamental to agriculture, energy, climate action, poverty reduction, and sustainable development. The first priority is strengthening the water–food security nexus, highlighting the need for efficient water management to boost agricultural productivity, food production, irrigation, water storage, and disaster-risk reduction as global food demand continues to grow. The second priority focuses on improving reliable water services for urban, rural, and small-island communities through Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), including clean water supply, wastewater management, spatial planning, climate adaptation, and disaster mitigation. The third priority is enhancing international cooperation, capacity building, and knowledge exchange in water-resource management. As a follow-up to the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia has established a Center of Excellence on Water and Climate to promote regional collaboration, innovation, and human-resource development, while inviting broader partnerships to strengthen water and climate resilience.Source: https://voi.id/ekonomi/582676/ri-bawa-3-prioritas-isu-air-global-menuju-world-water-forum-2027 (ICE GIACARTA)
