The European Union is seeking to deepen technology cooperation with Indonesia, focusing on digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and innovation as part of broader efforts to strengthen economic ties ahead of the entry into force of the Indonesia–European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Speaking in Jakarta, EU Ambassador Denis Chaibi and Ambassador of Cyprus Nikos Panayiotou highlighted technology, trusted digital governance and regulatory certainty as key pillars of the partnership, while reaffirming the EU's commitment to closer engagement with Indonesia and ASEAN. The EU also underscored that enhanced digital cooperation would support Indonesia's digital transformation, create new economic opportunities under the IEU-CEPA, and strengthen technological resilience through diversified partnerships.Source: https://www.thejakartapost.com/business/2026/06/26/eu-indonesia-eye-deeper-tech-cooperation-ahead-of-ieu-cepa?utm_source=(direct)&utm_medium=single_more (ICE GIACARTA)
