INDONESIA EXPANDS INDUSTRIAL PARKS TO ATTRACT INVESTMENT
The Indonesian government is actively developing industrial parks to accelerate downstream industrialization, attract investment, and support national economic growth. In collaboration with PT Danareksa, the Ministry of Industry is strengthening the management of strategic industrial zones, which are seen as key drivers of investment, job creation, and industrial competitiveness. As of mid‑2026, Indonesia has 179 industrial parks covering nearly 100,000 hectares, hosting almost 12,000 tenants, generating trillions of rupiah in investment, and employing over 2.3 million workers. PT Danareksa manages seven major industrial parks that significantly contribute to this ecosystem, with strong occupancy rates and substantial employment and investment figures. The government aims to expand and modernize these parks, including transforming them into green industrial zones and developing new hubs outside Java. However, challenges such as land acquisition, infrastructure, regulatory complexity, and environmental management remain. To overcome these, stronger collaboration between the government, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector is considered essential to ensure sustainable and inclusive industrial growth.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2518845/indonesia-expands-industrial-parks-to-attract-investment#google_vignette (ICE GIACARTA)
