AQABA PORTS' CARGO HANDLING GROWS BY 38% THIS YEAR

Cargo handling volumes at Aqaba's ports increased by 38% from the beginning of the year through the end of the first week of June, highlighting the city's growing role as a regional logistics hub and its capacity to support trade, supply chains, and the movement of strategic goods. The growth aligns with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority's (ASEZA) strategy to enhance Aqaba's competitiveness as an integrated economic and logistics center. ASEZA Chief Commissioner Shadi Ramzi Majali said the strong operational performance of Aqaba's ports underscores the importance of continuing efforts to develop logistics services and improve operational efficiency. He noted that these measures will further strengthen Aqaba's position as a key pillar of the national economy and a major regional center for trade and transit. (ICE AMMAN)
