Kazakhstan adopts national strategy for large-scale digitalization, AI rolloutKazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree approving a nationwide digitalization and artificial intelligence strategy through 2029, official media reported Wednesday.The "Digital Qazaqstan" strategy aims to ensure the country adapts quickly to new technological realities while strengthening its competitive position in the global digital economy, the decree said.It sets the goal of positioning Kazakhstan as a leading digital state with technological sovereignty, a developed data economy and a competitive AI industry that improves quality of life, economic productivity and government efficiency.A core principle is reliance on market mechanisms and private initiative to ease budget pressure, create market incentives and accelerate growth of the national IT sector.The government and state bodies have been given three months to develop an implementation plan. Agency heads will bear personal responsibility for meeting key targets.The decree takes effect immediately. (ICE ALMATY)
