INDONESIA AND SINGAPORE BOOST ECONOMIC TIES IN DIGITAL AND GREEN ENERGY SECTORS
Indonesia and Singapore reinforced their economic partnership across investment, digital economy, and green energy during the 16th Six Bilateral Economic Working Groups Ministerial Meeting in Jakarta. Joint efforts will focus heavily on the Batam-Bintan-Karimun (BBK) region, which drew $5.7 billion in investments in 2025 and is transitioning into a regional digital hub via data center expansions. Key projects include expanding the Batam free trade zone, doubling the Kendal Eco-Industrial Park, and completing a massive 200 MW solar plant by next year. Singapore remains Indonesia's strategic partner, maintaining an investment of $17.4 billion in 2025.
