DUBAI'S BUSINESS EVENTS SECTOR ACHIEVES RECORD-BREAKING $6.8BN ECONOMIC IMPACT I

According to the Dubai World Trade Centre's (DWTC) 2025 Economic Impact Assessment, Dubai's business events sector generated a record AED 25.03 billion ($6.8 billion) in economic output and contributed AED 14.66 billion ($4 billion) in Gross Value Added to the emirate's GDP. Driven by 108 large-scale exhibitions and conferences, the sector attracted 2.18 million attendees, including nearly 947,000 international visitors whose extended stays and higher average spending (averaging $2,696 per event) significantly boosted local industries like accommodation, travel, and retail. This surging economic activity supported over 94,000 jobs—a 10% year-on-year increase—and demonstrated a powerful multiplier effect where every AED 1 spent at a DWTC event generated AED 5.5 in total economic output. Led robustly by the healthcare, food and beverage, and technology sectors, this historic performance reinforces Dubai's status as a premier global hub for trade and investment as the city continues to expand its event infrastructure to foster future sustainable growth.
