INDONESIA TO RECORD 4.9 PCT TO 5.7 PCT GROWTH IN 2026, BI ESTIMATES

Bank Indonesia (BI) projects Indonesia’s economic growth in 2026 to range between 4.9% and 5.7%, with Governor Perry Warjiyo emphasizing the central bank’s continued strengthening of its policy mix—covering monetary, macroprudential, and payment system policies—in close coordination with government measures. These efforts aim to preserve macroeconomic stability while supporting growth, especially as global economic conditions and outlooks weaken. Growth momentum in early 2026 has been supported mainly by domestic demand. Household consumption rose on the back of sustained incomes, improved economic confidence, and higher spending during the Eid holidays, while government expenditure increased through THR disbursements, social spending, and regional transfers. Investment, particularly in construction, also remained robust, driven by priority government programs. Looking ahead, BI and the government will continue to roll out policies to cushion global headwinds, boost domestic demand, absorb labor, and strengthen fiscal resilience.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/413277/indonesia-to-record-49-pct-to-57-pct-growth-in-2026-bi-estimates (ICE GIACARTA)
