MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY LAUNCHES NEW RISK-BASED ENVIRONMENTAL FRAMEWORK FOR Industrial Estates
The Indonesian Ministry of Industry has introduced Ministerial Regulation No. 2 of 2026, establishing a new framework for integrated, risk-based environmental management within industrial estates. This regulation refines previous policies to align with updated national standards for business licensing.Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that the regulation aims to improve oversight efficiency and streamline the permit process for businesses. By focusing on Detailed Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (RKL-RPL Rinci), the policy empowers estate managers to maintain high environmental standards while fostering a more attractive investment climate.The Ministry emphasized that this transition is crucial for transforming industrial zones into competitive, eco-friendly growth centers.
