INDIA IMPOSES IMPORT CURBS ON HERBICIDE GLUFOSINATE & SALTS
The government Monday imposed curbs on imports of Glufosinate and its salts, a herbicide used in the agriculture sector, for six months. “The import of Glufosinate and its salts... shall be restricted where the combined amount of the CIF (cost, insurance, freight) value and applicable anti-dumping duty, calculated on a per kilogram basis, is less than Rs 1,154 ( 10.51 Euros),” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification. The imports of some of the product categories will be subject to a certificate of registration by the government and would be reviewed after a year. India imported $1.65 ( 1.40 Euros) billion worth of fungicides, insecticides, herbicides and rodenticides in FY25 with around $655 (555 euros) million coming from China. (ICE NEW DELHI)
