Kazakhstan to boost coal output 11.2% in 2026 to nearly 129 mln tonnesKazakhstan plans to produce 128.9 million tonnes of coal in 2026, up 11.2% from 2025, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said.“In 2026, coal production is planned at 128.9 million tonnes,” Akkenzhenov said at a government meeting on Tuesday in Astana.According to the minister, coal output in 2025 totaled about 115.9 million tonnes, up 7% from a year earlier.“In 2025, 85.9 million tonnes were consumed domestically, including for municipal and household needs, while exports totaled 30 million tonnes,” he said.Kazakhstan’s main coal export destinations are Russia, Poland, Uzbekistan, Turkey, India and Malaysia, he added.
