INDONESIA TO RAISE DIGITAL DUTY MORATORIUM AT WTO FORUM

As said by Trade Minister Budi Santoso in a written statement on Tuesday (24/3), Indonesia will push key priorities at the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference which includes the review of moratorium on customs duties on electronic transmission (CDET), with also continuing the WTO Work Programme on e-Commerce sector. He emphasized that global e-commerce policies have to address digital divides and also support developing countries. As a part of the key priorities, Indonesia will also push for the reform of the broader World Trade Organisation which includes the restoration of dispute settlement system and reinforcing special treatments for developing countries, with other priorities that include subsidies on fishery products, food security-focused agricultural negotiation, and fair rules for small farmers and fishers.Source: https://en.tempo.co/read/2094390/indonesia-to-call-for-wto-reform-in-upcoming-cameroon-conference?tracking_page_direct (ICE GIACARTA)
