The Indonesian government is currently drafting a Presidential Regulation on AI, confirmed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Ismail during the 2nd Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group Forum in Tokyo on 16 March. He noted that AI governance must be grounded in an approach that balances innovation with risk management, including human-centred AI development, multi-party collaboration, data governance and digital talent development.
