INDONESIA'S NTT TARGETS JUNE COMPLETION FOR NATIONAL SALT INDUSTRY CENTER

The National Salt Industry Center (K-SIGN) of Indonesia in Rote Ndao, East Nusa Tenggara, is nearing completion, with construction progress already at 92%. Deputy Governor Johni Asadoma has set a target for full completion by June 2026, emphasizing that the project is a strategic move to reduce Indonesia’s dependence on salt imports and strengthen domestic self-sufficiency. The initiative is expected to generate around 26,000 jobs, with 80–90% allocated to local workers, helping to lower the province’s unemployment figure of about 125,000 people. The project is also seen as a new economic driver for NTT, with the first phase scheduled to finish by mid-2025. Provincial and district governments have pledged to intervene if obstacles arise, ensuring the timeline stays on track. Asadoma highlighted that success depends on synergy between the central government, regional authorities, and private sector partners. Project Manager Erwan Fatrianstah of PT Nindya Karya confirmed that the embankment construction—the main infrastructure—is nearly complete, and the work has entered the finishing stage. Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/410222/indonesias-ntt-targets-june-completion-for-natl-salt-industry-center?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
