UKRAINE ADVANCES CUSTOMS REFORM AS EU ACCESSION

Ukraine’s “Customs Platform 2026” brought together government, business, and international partners to discuss progress in customs reform and EU integration. Key topics included the implementation of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, the “customs visa-free regime” (NCTS), and alignment with EU legislation.Vice Prime Minister Taras Kachka highlighted that the “Customs Union” chapter is central to EU accession talks, noting Ukraine’s strong evaluation by the European Commission. Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko added that Ukraine has already implemented 96% of its customs-related commitments.Officials reported growing business engagement: 117 companies have obtained AEO status, while nearly 300 firms received over 1,100 simplification authorizations.
