RUSSIA AND WESTERN FIRMS VIE FOR INDONESIA’S NUCLEAR ENERGY PLANS
Indonesia is moving forward with plans to develop nuclear power as part of President Prabowo Subianto’s energy strategy, targeting 500 MW of nuclear capacity by 2032 and about 7 GW by 2034. Russia’s state nuclear company Rosatom and firms from the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, and Canada are competing to support the program, with proposals ranging from large reactors to floating small modular reactors. However, Indonesia has not yet opened a formal bidding process and is waiting for the establishment of the Nuclear Energy Program Implementation Organization (NEPIO) to coordinate the development of its nuclear projects.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/6301/energy-and-resources/russia-and-western-firms-vie-for-indonesia-s-nuclear-energy-plans (ICE GIACARTA)
