INDONESIA’S MSMES RECORD US$7.41 MILLION IN TRANSACTIONS AT JMFW 2026
Indonesia’s strategic effort to globalize its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) saw tangible success at Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026, where MSME transactions reached US$7.41 million (approximately IDR117 billion) by the event’s close on November 9, 2025. Trade Minister of Indonesia, Budi Santoso, highlighted this achievement as a milestone in transforming JMFW into a key trade platform for modest fashion, especially for smaller businesses seeking international exposure. Organized by the Ministry of Trade and the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), the four-day event emphasized inclusivity, aligning with the national export agenda by promoting fashion exports from MSMEs alongside larger enterprises. JMFW 2026 served as both a showcase and a collaborative hub, spotlighting Indonesian traditional textiles (wastra) and local fashion trends as global inspirations. Under the theme “Essential Lab: Crafting the Future of Modest Fashion for Every Lifestyle,” the event encouraged innovation and experimentation among designers, MSMEs, and supporting industries. Minister Budi described “Essential Lab” as a creative laboratory where cultural heritage meets modern lifestyle demands, reinforcing Indonesia’s position as a globally competitive producer of value-added modest fashion. The initiative successfully connected stakeholders across the fashion ecosystem, advancing the ministry’s vision of inclusive and export-driven growth.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/1962009/indonesia-s-msmes-record-usd-7-41-million-in-transactions-at-jmfw-2026 (ICE GIACARTA)
